I’m that guy who grew up looking forward to the commercials and stopping on the ads when I thumbed through magazines. I’ve never considered what I do as “work.”
A lot has changed since I started in the business. Nowadays people are concerned with what’s changing. Media. Metrics. Markets. How to better reach people.
I’ve always been more concerned with what’s unchanging: how to move people. It sounds simple, but with smart phones glued to our palms and the daily, minute-by-minute bombardment of content— better stories are more important than ever.
I’ve learned that if you want to tell a good story, you’ve got to start with a watertight strategy. Because when you start with strategy, and you know what moves people, you can engage them. That’s true you’re writing ads, or blogs, or tweets, or posts, or scripts, or letters, or e-blasts, or direct mail or notes-on-napkins.
For three decades. I’ve develop concepts and copy for brands ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 500. In addition to leading the branding and marketing efforts for leading resort destinations and real estate properties across North America and the Caribbean, I have considerable experience in the resort real estate, hospitality, health care and home improvement industries.
My work has been featured in Communication Arts, Print and Graphis. I’ve won Best of Show at ShowSouth as well as gold Addy Awards at the local, regional and national levels.
