WET — WETLAND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES
What’s a wetlands mitigation bank, you ask? According to Wikipedia, mitigation banking is the “preservation, enhancement, restoration or creation of a wetland, stream, or habitat conservation area which offsets, or compensates for, expected adverse impacts to similar nearby ecosystems.”
Mitigation banking doesn’t necessarily replace wetland acre for acre so much as it replaces wetland ecology. Before I upset conservationists out there, “wetland” can be broadly defined by the Army Corps of Engineers.
This spec campaign I wrote with designer Allison Whalen years ago has real staying power.
